Sometimes You’re Going to Hate What You’re Working On And That’s OK

I’m lucky to have a job where I get to sit and write stuff all day.

That doesn’t mean I’m always excited about everything I work on. That’s part of the deal, I think. You can’t be happy with what you’re doing all the time. What’s the challenge in that?

If you loved every minute of your workload, honestly, you’d probably get bored.

It’s not that you hate what you’re doing. It’s that challenges are hard, and we all have those days/weeks/months where we just don’t want to do the hard stuff.

Succeeding as a writer requires doing a lot of the hard stuff, whether you want to or not. And I know you know that. But it never hurts to have a reminder that we all doubt ourselves. We all stop what we’re typing and wonder why we’re even bothering. That’s normal. But it’s good for us. It keeps…
