This is a very promising start to a new series. On one level it’s a boy joining a new school and having difficulties fitting in. On another it has a touch of magic, as the school in question is nothing else but the Sky Raider Academy.
Tom lost his father, so there is tragedy, but if you read anything by this author before, you’ll find that soon hope, inspration and fun adventure awaits. In this case the adventure is rather huge, as responsibility beyond the call of duty awaits.
The characters are very relatable, the young adult feel is perfectly met spot on and whether you’re young or an adult, this is a lovely and very refreshing read. Absolutely loved it.
