It amazes me how many writers whine and complain that making changes to their work will ruin their writer’s voice and style. Or we don’t understand the genre they are writing in.

It doesn’t matter what genre you write in, if you have problems in your work like plot holes, too much description or too much back story, that’s going to get noticed and pointed out.

These writers need to develop lizard skin if they want to make it in this profession they’ve chosen. It doesn’t matter if your friends and family love your writing, if you publish they aren’t the ones who will be paying good money for what you write. Keep that in mind next time you decide to bitch about the critiques.

Also makes me wonder how they would react to one star reviews of their work? And don’t go waving your ‘I’m a best-selling and award-winning…
