Here’s another short and sweet tip from Anna Dobritt on the topic of self-editing.
If you choose to self-edit your writing, then join a good critique group to find out what your problem areas are and learn how to correct them. Learn to cut unnecessary descriptions, and tags that don’t fit. Everything you write should move the story forward, not bog it down with info dumps or pages of back-story. I’ve learned so much from belonging to Writers World critique group on Facebook, it’s scary. Tighten your prose so the story flows.
